At the Craft Brewers Conference this year we caught up with Wild Goose Filling to learn about the Gosling one-head filler – a compact unit that can fit in a ton of brewery nooks and crannies. Here is internal sales and service rep Alex Rabe, explaining what’s cool:

“We have large breweries and small breweries both using this in about 10, 12 cans a minute on 12 ounce cans, a little slower for the bigger ones. … everything on this machine is all controlled through a tablet interface over Wi-Fi. … easy, convenient, saves you some money on startup.

The new gooseneck component is particularly interesting.

“That is an assisted in feed. We just have a simple weight here, and as we feed [the cans] in it snaps it more and more down. … once we get a little lower, all we do is just swap the weight onto the top and we’re good to continue. That brings the operation down to about a one person job.”

It’s a great entry-level canning machine that’s easier to use (with less chance for errors) than a typical manual-fill-and-seal appliance. The Gosling has the same filling and seaming technology as Wild Goose’s larger machines and “you get just the same amount of support from our service team as well,” Rabe says.
